Carne Asada Marinade
My family came across this recipe kind of by accident. My high schooler had to make Carne Asada for Spanish class. In the past we have bought our Carne Asada marinated from a local shop that specializes in authentic Mexican food. I have to say this marinade blew away what we had thought was really good. We will be marinating our own Carne Asada going forward.

  6. 1 c water
  7. 2 TBS pepper
  8. 3/4-1 TBS salt
  9. 1 TBS ground cumin
  10. 1 TBS chili powder ( I used Savory Spice Shops Black Canyon Chili Powder, which has a touch of Cacao-yum!)
  11. 1 TBS Mexican oregano
  12. 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  13. 1/4 bunch of cilantro, chopped
  1. Place all ingredients into a gallon size plastic bag, holding the top of the bag closed use your other hand to mix/massage the ingredients from outside the bag.
  2. Place the meat into the bag, mix/massage again
  3. Seal well and place the bag into the refrigerator to marinate for at least 2 hours, but preferably longer. Overnight would be great.
  4. Cook meat on the grill to your desired "doneness."
